🍫 Chocolate Cake Recipe

A classic chocolate cake that’s soft, deeply chocolaty, and incredibly easy to make. Perfect on its own or topped with silky chocolate sauce.
🛒 Ingredients
For the Cake

3 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cups granulated sugar

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder
-
½ tsp salt

2 eggs
-
1 cup milk
-
½ cup vegetable oil
-
2 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 cup hot water (or hot coffee for richer flavor)
Optional Chocolate Sauce

200 ml heavy cream
-
100 g dark chocolate

1️⃣ Prepare

Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).

Grease and flour a 24 cm cake pan.
2️⃣ Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3️⃣ Wet Ingredients

Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.

Beat with a mixer until smooth.
4️⃣ Add Heat

Pour in the hot water (or coffee) last.

Batter will be runny — this is normal.
5️⃣ Bake

Pour batter into the prepared pan.

Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6️⃣ Chocolate Sauce (Optional)

Heat cream until warm, add chocolate, and stir until melted.

Pour over the cooled cake.
