All-purpose flour: 1¾ cups (225 g)

Step 1: Prepare the Oven & Pan

Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).

Grease a loaf pan with butter and lightly dust with flour, or line it with baking paper.
Step 2: Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, add the soft butter and sugar.

Beat with a hand mixer or whisk for 5–7 minutes until the mixture becomes light, pale, and fluffy.
👉 This step is very important for a soft pound cake.
Step 3: Add Eggs

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Mix in the vanilla extract.
Step 4: Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, sift together:

Flour

Baking powder

Salt

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.

Fold gently with a spatula or mix on low speed.
⚠️ Do not overmix, or the cake will become dense.
Step 5: Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the top.

Bake for 45–55 minutes.
👉 Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center.
If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
Step 6: Cool the Cake

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes.

Then transfer to a wire rack and allow it to cool completely.
