🍪 Butter Cookies (Spritz Cookies) 🍪

Crispy, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious—perfect for tea time or festive treats!


🧾 Ingredients

For the Cookies:

  • 250 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornflour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

For Decoration:

  • Red & green glacé cherries 🍒
  • Rainbow sprinkles 🌈

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C and line baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the milk.
  4. Combine flour, cornflour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Add dry ingredients gradually to form a soft, smooth dough (thick but pipeable).
  6. Pipe dough using a star nozzle into desired shapes on the tray.
  7. Decorate with sprinkles or a piece of glacé cherry in the center.
  8. Bake until edges turn lightly golden.
  9. Cool completely before handling and serving.

Tip: If the dough feels too stiff for piping, add a teaspoon of milk at a time until it’s easier to pipe.
