🍫 Chocolate Ganache Loaf Cake 🍫

Rich, moist, and topped with silky ganache—this chocolate loaf is pure indulgence in every bite!


🧾 Ingredients

For the Chocolate Loaf:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (50 g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) milk or buttermilk
  • ½ cup (120 ml) hot water or hot coffee

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 cup (180 g) dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) whipping cream

Optional Topping:

  • Chocolate chunks or chocolate chips

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease or line a loaf pan.
  2. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter, oil, and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Combine dry ingredients with milk in batches. Mix gently.
  6. Stir in hot water or coffee until smooth (batter will be slightly runny).
  7. Bake until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Cool completely.

Make the Ganache:
8. Heat cream until steaming (not boiling).
9. Pour over chocolate, let sit, then stir until smooth and glossy.

🍰 Assemble:
10. Pour ganache over the cooled loaf.
11. Add chocolate chunks if desired. Let set, slice, and enjoy!
