🥐 Classic Scones Recipe 🫓🍞
Soft, buttery, and perfect with tea ☕


🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cold butter (cut into cubes)
  • ¾ cup milk (or heavy cream)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3️⃣ Add Butter
Rub the cold butter into the flour using your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

4️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla.

5️⃣ Combine
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix to form a soft dough.
Fold in raisins or chocolate chips if using.

6️⃣ Shape
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently flatten to about 1 inch thick.

7️⃣ Cut
Cut into triangles or rounds and place on the prepared baking tray.

8️⃣ Bake
Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.


✨ Optional Finish

Brush the tops with milk before baking and sprinkle a little sugar for a golden, slightly crunchy crust.
