🤎 Costco-Style Chocolate Cake Recipe

Rich. Moist. Ultra-Chocolatey.
This homemade version tastes just like the famous warehouse favorite — soft layers, silky cream filling, and glossy ganache on top. 🍫


🛒 Ingredients

🟤 For the Chocolate Cake

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• ¾ cup cocoa powder
• 1½ cups granulated sugar
• 1 packet baking powder
• 1 packet vanilla extract
• ½ tsp salt
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup milk
• ½ cup vegetable oil
• 1 cup hot water
• 1 tsp instant coffee (optional – enhances chocolate flavor)


🤍 For the Cream Filling

• 200 g cream cheese or labneh
• 200 ml cold liquid cream
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 1 packet vanilla


🍫 For the Ganache (Optional but Recommended 😉)

• 200 g dark chocolate
• 200 ml cream


👩‍🍳 Preparation

🟤 Chocolate Cake

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and grease your cake pan.
2️⃣ In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, vanilla, and salt.
3️⃣ In another bowl, beat eggs with sugar until light. Add milk and oil.
4️⃣ Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture.
5️⃣ Slowly pour in the hot water while mixing (the batter will be thin — that’s perfect!).
6️⃣ Pour into the pan and bake for 40–45 minutes. Test with a toothpick.
7️⃣ Let the cake cool completely before assembling.


🤍 Cream Filling

1️⃣ Whip the cold cream until fluffy and soft peaks form.
2️⃣ Add cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
3️⃣ Whip until smooth, creamy, and spreadable.


🍫 Ganache

1️⃣ Heat the cream gently (do NOT boil).
2️⃣ Pour over chopped dark chocolate.
3️⃣ Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then stir until glossy and smooth.


🎂 Assembly

1️⃣ Slice the cooled cake horizontally into two layers.
2️⃣ Spread a generous layer of cream in the center.
3️⃣ Cover the top and sides with the remaining cream.
4️⃣ Pour the glossy ganache over the top and let it drip beautifully.
5️⃣ Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
