Milk
-
Yeast
-
Sugar
-
Butter
-
Egg
-
Powdered milk (optional)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Yeast Mixture:
Warm the milk slightly (not too hot). Add yeast and a little sugar to the milk. Stir and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy. -
Mix the Ingredients:
In a large bowl, add flour, sugar, powdered milk, and a pinch of salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. -
Knead the Dough:
Mix everything together and knead the dough on a clean surface for about 10-15 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. -
First Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size. -
Shape the Dough:
Punch down the dough to remove air bubbles. Divide it into portions and shape them into loaves. -
Second Rise:
Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan or on a baking tray. Cover and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes until it puffs up. -
Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top. -
Cool:
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
