๐งพ Ingredients (Cake)
โข 2ยฝ cups (312g) all-purpose flour
โข 2ยฝ tsp baking powder
โข ยฝ tsp salt
โข 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
โข 1ยฝ cups (300g) granulated sugar
โข 4 large eggs
โข 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
โข 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
โข ยฝ cup (120g) sour cream or plain yogurt
โข ยฝ cup (80g) rainbow sprinkles (jimmies)
๐ฉโ๐ณ Instructions (Cake)
- Preheat oven to 175ยฐC (350ยฐF) and grease two 8-inch round pans.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light & fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla. Stir in sour cream.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and milk, starting & ending with flour.
- Gently fold in sprinkles.
- Divide batter evenly between pans.
- Bake for 25โ30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

โข 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
โข 4 cups (500g) powdered sugar
โข 3โ4 tbsp milk or cream
โข 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
โข Pinch of salt
โจ Optional: extra sprinkles for decoration
๐ฉโ๐ณ Instructions (Frosting)
- Beat butter until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar on low speed.
- Add milk (1 tbsp at a time) until desired consistency.
- Mix in vanilla and salt.
- Beat until light, fluffy, and smooth.
๐ Assembly
โข Place one cake layer on a plate and spread frosting on top.
โข Add the second layer and frost the top and sides.
