Full Recipe:
Ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 sticks unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
– 1/2 cup cold water
Directions:
1. In a food processor, combine the flour and salt. Add the cold butter cubes and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2. Gradually add the cold water while pulsing the mixture until a dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a rough rectangle.
4. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Fold the top third of the dough down and the bottom third up, like a letter.
5. Turn the dough a quarter turn, roll it out again into a rectangle, and fold it in thirds again. Repeat this process two more times.
6. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before using.
7. Use as desired in your favorite puff pastry recipes.
Tips:
– Make sure your butter is cold to achieve a flaky puff pastry.
– Do not overmix the dough to ensure a light and airy texture.
– Chilling the dough is essential for the butter to solidify and create those beautiful layers in the pastry.
