🌹 Red Velvet Cake 🍰
Soft, rich, and perfectly paired with creamy frosting — the ultimate treat for any special day!


🧾 Ingredients

🍰 Cake

  • 2½ cups (312 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tbsp red food coloring (adjust for color)

🧁 Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1 cup (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups (360 g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tbsp milk (optional, for smoothness)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Set oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
    In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream Butter & Sugar
    In a large bowl, beat butter, oil, and sugar until light & fluffy.
    Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
    Stir in vanilla and red food coloring.
  4. Combine Mixtures
    Add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately (start & end with dry).
    Mix gently until smooth, then stir in vinegar.
  5. Bake
    Divide batter evenly into pans.
    Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
    Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
  6. Make Frosting
    Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
    Add powdered sugar gradually, then vanilla.
    Add milk if needed for spreading.
  7. Assemble Cake
    • Place one layer → spread frosting
    • Add second layer → cover entire cake
    • Smooth or pipe as desired
