🍫 MATILDA CHOCOLATE CAKE (Ultra Moist & Rich)

🧁 Ingredients (Cake)
Dry:
• 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
• 2 cups (400g) sugar
• ¾ cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
Wet:
• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup (240ml) milk
• ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup (240ml) hot water or hot coffee ☕ (coffee = deeper chocolate flavor)
🍰 Method (Cake)
- Preheat oven to 170°C / 340°F
- Grease & line two 8-inch pans (or one deep pan)
- Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl
- Add eggs, milk, oil & vanilla → mix until smooth
- Slowly add hot water/coffee (batter will be thin — that’s perfect!)
- Pour into pans & bake 35–40 minutes
- Let cool completely before frosting
🍫 Matilda Fudge Frosting (THE STAR ⭐)
Ingredients:
• 1 cup (230g) butter
• 1 cup (200g) sugar
• ¾ cup (75g) cocoa powder
• 1 cup (240ml) evaporated milk or heavy cream
• 200g dark chocolate (optional but HIGHLY recommended)
• 1 tsp vanilla
• Pinch of salt
Method:
- Melt butter on low heat
- Add sugar + cocoa → stir well
- Pour in milk/cream → cook gently until thick & glossy
- Add dark chocolate, vanilla & salt
- Stir until smooth, thick & spreadable
🎂 Assembly (Matilda Style)
• Level cake layers
• Spread thick fudge frosting between layers
• Cover the whole cake generously (don’t hold back 😍)
✨ Result:
Super moist, ultra chocolatey, rich fudge cake — just like the iconic Matilda cake scene.
