🍰 Ingredients
Cake Batter
• 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
• 1 cup (200g) sugar
• ¾ cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• 2 large eggs
• ¾ cup (180ml) milk
• ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
• ¾ cup (180ml) hot water or coffee
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Filling / Frosting
• ½ cup (115g) butter
• ½ cup (50g) cocoa powder
• 1½ cups (180g) icing sugar
• ¼ cup (60ml) milk
• 100g melted dark chocolate
Chocolate Ganache (Drip)
• 150g dark chocolate
• ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
2️⃣ Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
3️⃣ Pour in hot water or coffee and mix again. The batter will be thin — that’s the secret to a super fudgy texture!
4️⃣ Pour into a greased 7-inch pan (or divide into layers).
5️⃣ Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 30–35 minutes. Let the cake cool completely.
6️⃣ For the frosting: beat butter and cocoa powder together. Gradually add icing sugar, then mix in milk and melted chocolate until smooth and creamy.
7️⃣ Slice the cake into layers and spread frosting evenly between each layer.
8️⃣ For the ganache: heat cream until hot (not boiling), pour over chocolate, let sit for a minute, then stir until silky smooth.
