🌹 Red Velvet Cake 🍰

🧾 Ingredients
🍰 Cake
- 2½ cups (312 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2–3 tbsp red food coloring (adjust for color)
🧁 Cream Cheese Frosting
- 1 cup (226 g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups (360 g) powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1–2 tbsp milk (optional, for smoothness)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat Oven
Set oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans. - Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. - Cream Butter & Sugar
In a large bowl, beat butter, oil, and sugar until light & fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
Stir in vanilla and red food coloring. - Combine Mixtures
Add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately (start & end with dry).
Mix gently until smooth, then stir in vinegar. - Bake
Divide batter evenly into pans.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack. - Make Frosting
Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
Add powdered sugar gradually, then vanilla.
Add milk if needed for spreading. - Assemble Cake
- Place one layer → spread frosting
- Add second layer → cover entire cake
- Smooth or pipe as desired
