🍰 Classic Marble Cake 🍫
Soft, moist, and beautifully swirled—this timeless treat is perfect with tea or coffee!
🧾 Ingredients
For the cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
For the chocolate swirl:
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp hot milk or hot water
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170°C / 340°F.
- Grease and line an 8-inch round or loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly into two bowls.
Make the chocolate mix:
7. Combine cocoa powder with hot milk/water (and sugar if using).
8. Stir into one portion of the batter.
Create the marble effect:
9. Spoon vanilla and chocolate batters alternately into the pan.
10. Gently swirl with a skewer or knife (don’t overmix!).
Bake:
