🍰 Fluffy Italian Orange Cake (Melts in Your Mouth)

🥄 Ingredients

  • 4 eggs 🥚
  • A pinch of salt
  • Vanilla (to taste)
  • ¾ cup milk (180 ml)
  • ⅔ cup oil (160 ml)
  • Zest of 1 orange 🍊
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 320 g flour (1¾ cups)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (15 g)

Toppings:

  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips 🍫
  • Sliced almonds

  1. Whip the base
    • Beat eggs, salt, and vanilla until slightly fluffy.
    • Add milk, oil, orange zest, and orange juice. Mix well.
  2. Add dry ingredients
    • Sift flour and baking powder.
    • Add in two parts, mixing gently each time until smooth.
  3. Prepare the pan
    • Use a 27 × 18 cm baking dish.
    • Line it with parchment paper.
  4. Assemble
    • Pour batter into the dish.
    • Sprinkle chocolate chips and sliced almonds on top.
  5. Bake
    • Bake at 175°C for 35–40 minutes.
    • Check with a toothpick—it should come out clean.
