Only have one egg at home? No problem—this “7-spoon” magic cake is here to save the day! Made with simple ingredients and no scale, this recipe is perfect for quick baking and delivers a soft, fluffy cake every time.

What makes it extra special? A delicious topping of crunchy sesame seeds and creamy Lotus spread that melts beautifully into the cake as it bakes. It’s the perfect treat for cozy coffee breaks or last-minute dessert cravings.

  • 1 egg 🥚
  • 7 tbsp sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • A little vanilla
  • 7 tbsp oil
  • 7 tbsp milk
  • 7 tbsp yogurt
  • 7 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

Topping:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Lotus cream (spread)

Baking dish: 27 Ă— 18 cm


🍰 Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (347°F).
  2. In a bowl, whisk the egg, sugar, salt, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Add oil, milk, and yogurt. Mix well until combined.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until you get a smooth batter.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 27 Ă— 18 cm baking dish.
  7. Spoon small dollops of Lotus cream over the top and lightly swirl if desired.
  8. Sprinkle generously with sesame seeds.
  9. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
