Looking for a fast, homemade bread recipe without yeast? This 20-minute bread is soft, fluffy, and perfect for beginners. Made with simple pantry ingredients, it’s ideal for breakfast, dinner, or a quick snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon (12 g) baking powder
- 1 tablespoon (12 g) sugar
- ½ teaspoon (3 g) salt
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) butter, melted
- 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk or warm water
Optional toppings:
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil (for brushing)
- Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Prepare the dough
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until evenly combined. - Add wet ingredients
Slowly pour in the warm milk (or water), mixing gently until a soft dough begins to form. Add the melted butter and continue mixing until the dough becomes smooth and pliable. - Shape the bread
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently press and shape it into a round disk or small loaf. - Add toppings (optional)
Brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle sesame seeds for a golden, bakery-style finish. - Bake
Place the dough on a hot pan, skillet, or baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (425°F) for about 15–20 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown. - Serve warm
Let it cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm with butter or alongside your favorite meal.
Tips for Best Results
- Use warm (not hot) liquid to help the dough come together smoothly.
- Do not overmix the dough to keep the bread soft and tender.
- For extra flavor, add herbs, garlic, or cheese to the dough.
