Homemade 20-Minute Bread (No Yeast, Quick & Easy Recipe)

Looking for a fast, homemade bread recipe without yeast? This 20-minute bread is soft, fluffy, and perfect for beginners. Made with simple pantry ingredients, it’s ideal for breakfast, dinner, or a quick snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon (12 g) baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon (12 g) sugar
  • ½ teaspoon (3 g) salt
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk or warm water

Optional toppings:

  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil (for brushing)
  • Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until evenly combined.
  2. Add wet ingredients
Slowly pour in the warm milk (or water), mixing gently until a soft dough begins to form. Add the melted butter and continue mixing until the dough becomes smooth and pliable.
  3. Shape the bread
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently press and shape it into a round disk or small loaf.
  4. Add toppings (optional)
Brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle sesame seeds for a golden, bakery-style finish.
  5. Bake
Place the dough on a hot pan, skillet, or baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (425°F) for about 15–20 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown.
  6. Serve warm
Let it cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm with butter or alongside your favorite meal.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use warm (not hot) liquid to help the dough come together smoothly.
  • Do not overmix the dough to keep the bread soft and tender.
  • For extra flavor, add herbs, garlic, or cheese to the dough.
