Homemade Burger Buns

Ingredients
- 3¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup warm water
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp butter, softened

- 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
Mix the Dough
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm milk, warm water, egg, and softened butter.
- Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth, soft, and elastic.
First Rise
- Place the dough into a lightly greased bowl.
- Cover and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Buns
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
- Shape each piece into a smooth ball.
- Place on a lined baking tray and flatten slightly.
Second Rise
- Cover loosely and allow the buns to rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
Bake
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush the tops with egg wash.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until beautifully golden brown.
Cool
- Let the buns cool before slicing and serving.

- Use bread flour instead of all-purpose flour for a softer, chewier texture.
- Add 1 tbsp milk powder for a bakery-style finish.
