📝 Ingredients
🍫 For the Chocolate Cake
• 2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
• ¾ cup cocoa powder (75g)
• 1½ cups sugar (300g)
• 1½ teaspoons baking powder
• 1½ teaspoons baking soda
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup milk (240ml)
• ½ cup vegetable oil (120ml)
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup hot water or coffee (240ml)
🍮 For Ganache Whipped Frosting
• 1½ cups heavy cream (360ml)
• 300g dark chocolate, chopped
• 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Bake the Cake
Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and grease two 8-inch pans.
In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Pour in hot water or coffee and stir (the batter will be thin — that’s perfect!).
Divide batter evenly into pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool completely before frosting.
2️⃣ Make the Ganache Whipped Frosting
Heat cream until hot (not boiling), then pour over chopped chocolate.
Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
Allow ganache to cool, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until thick but scoopable.
Whip using a mixer until light, fluffy, and spreadable.
(Add powdered sugar if you prefer it sweeter.)
3️⃣ Assemble the Cake
Place one cake layer on a board and spread a generous layer of whipped ganache.
Top with the second layer and frost the top and sides evenly.
Smooth it out or create beautiful swirls ✨
Chill slightly for a firmer finish, then slice and serve.
✨ Tip: Using hot coffee instead of water enhances the chocolate flavor without making it taste like coffee!
