🍫 Decadent Chocolate Cake 🍫

Rich, moist, and irresistibly chocolatey — this cake is pure indulgence in every bite.


🧁 Ingredients

For the Chocolate Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder (75g)
  • 1½ cups sugar (300g)
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (240ml)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (120ml)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee or water (240ml)

For the Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

  • 1 cup butter, softened (230g)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (360g)
  • ½ cup cocoa powder (50g)
  • ½ cup heavy cream or milk (120ml)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Bake the Cake

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  • Slowly pour in hot coffee (this enhances the chocolate flavor!) and mix gently.
  • Divide batter evenly into two greased 8-inch pans.
  • Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cakes cool completely before frosting.

2. Make the Frosting

  • Beat butter until light and creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well.
  • Add cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat until fluffy and smooth.

3. Assemble the Cake

  • Place one cake layer on a board and spread a thick layer of frosting.
  • Add the second layer and frost the entire cake.
  • Smooth the sides or create decorative swirls for a decadent finish.
