🧾 Ingredients

🥣 Dough

  • 250 ml warm milk (1 cup)
  • 11 g dry yeast (1 tbsp)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 3 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 60 g melted butter (4 tbsp)
  • 600 g whole wheat flour (5 cups)
  • 10 g vanilla sugar (2 tsp)
  • 50 g raisins (1/3 cup)

👩‍🍳 For Kneading

  • 80 g flour (2/3 cup)

✨ Glaze

  • 1 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1 tbsp neutral vegetable oil
  • Brown sugar for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Activate the Yeast

In a bowl, combine:

  • Warm milk
  • Yeast
  • Sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour

Mix well and let sit for about 10–15 minutes until foamy.

2️⃣ Prepare the Dough

Add:

  • Eggs
  • Salt
  • Melted butter
  • Vanilla sugar

Mix until combined.

Gradually add the flour and knead into a soft dough.

3️⃣ Add Raisins

Fold in the raisins and continue kneading until evenly distributed.

4️⃣ Let the Dough Rise

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.

Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into buns.
