- 2 cups (450g) unsalted butter, softened
- 6 cups (750g) powdered sugar
- 4–6 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Colorful sprinkles, for decoration
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake Pans
Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. Make the Cake Batter
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture becomes light, pale, and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until the batter is smooth and well combined. Avoid overmixing to maintain a light texture.
4. Bake the Cake Layers
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
Bake for 28–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
