🧁 INGREDIENTS

🍫 For the Chocolate Cake Layers
• 2½ cups all-purpose flour (312g)
• 1 cup cocoa powder (85g)
• 2 cups granulated sugar (400g)
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 cup vegetable oil (240ml)
• 1 cup buttermilk (240ml)
• 1 cup hot coffee or hot water (240ml)
• 3 large eggs
• 2 tsp vanilla extract

🍪 For the Cookie Dough Filling
• 1 cup unsalted butter (227g)
• 1 cup brown sugar (220g)
• 2 cups heat-treated flour (250g)
• 2 tbsp milk
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup mini chocolate chips (170g)

🧈 For the Buttercream Frosting
• 2 cups unsalted butter (454g)
• 5 cups icing sugar (625g)
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 3–4 tbsp heavy cream or milk
• Pinch of salt

🍫 For the Chocolate Drip
• 1 cup chocolate chips (170g)
• ½ cup heavy cream (120ml)

• Chocolate chip cookies
• Mini chocolate chips
• Caramel sauce (optional)

👩‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS

1️⃣ Make the Chocolate Cake
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line three 8-inch cake pans.

Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.

Add oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

Pour in hot coffee or water and stir gently. Batter will be thin.

Divide evenly into pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool completely.

2️⃣ Prepare the Cookie Dough Filling
Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.

Add vanilla and milk.

Mix in heat-treated flour until combined.

Fold in mini chocolate chips.

Roll small scoops into balls for topping if desired.

3️⃣ Make the Buttercream
Beat butter until light and fluffy.

Gradually add icing sugar.

Add vanilla, salt, and cream. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Heat cream until hot but not boiling.

Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 2 minutes.

Stir until smooth and glossy.

Let cool slightly before using.

Place first cake layer on cake board.

Spread buttercream, then add cookie dough filling.

Repeat with remaining layers.

Cover cake with buttercream and smooth the sides.

Chill cake for 20 minutes.
