- 450 g pitted dates
- 450 g chopped pecans or walnuts
- 4 packs coconut flakes (about 1.1 kg)
- 3 tbsp (24 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cans sweetened condensed milk (about 850 g)
👩🍳 How to Prepare the Cake
1️⃣ Prepare the Oven & Pan
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
Grease a 25 cm baking pan lightly and line the bottom with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
2️⃣ Mix the Fruits & Nuts
In a large mixing bowl, combine:
- candied cherries
- pineapple
- dates
- chopped pecans/walnuts
Add the coconut flakes and mix everything well using your hands or a spatula.
3️⃣ Add Flour & Milk
Sprinkle the flour evenly over the mixture and stir thoroughly.
Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and mix until the mixture becomes moist and sticky.
4️⃣ Bake the Cake
Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan, removing any air pockets.
Bake for 1½ hours, or until the top turns a beautiful golden color and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
5️⃣ Cool & Remove
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
Carefully run a knife around the edges, then gently remove the cake from the pan. Peel off the parchment paper and allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.
