Soft, flaky, and perfectly golden — no eggs needed!
🧾 Ingredients
🥣 Dry Ingredients
• 2 cups all-purpose flour (plain flour)
• 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp salt
🧈 Wet Ingredients
• ½ cup cold butter (cubed)
• ¾ cup milk (add a little more if needed)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
🍇 Optional Add-ins
• Raisins
• Chocolate chips
• Dried cranberries
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat Oven
Set to 200°C (390°F)
Line a baking tray with parchment paper
2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
3️⃣ Add Butter
Rub cold butter into the flour using your fingers
✨ Mixture should look like breadcrumbs — this gives that soft, flaky texture
4️⃣ Add Milk
Pour in milk and vanilla
Mix gently until a soft dough forms (don’t overmix!)
5️⃣ Shape the Dough
Lightly flour your surface
Pat dough to about 1-inch thickness
Cut into triangles or circles
6️⃣ Bake
Place on tray and bake for 12–18 minutes
